How mat sizing works.
1 Frame size
The inside size of your frame becomes the outside size of your mat.
2 Picture size
This is the size of your photo or artwork.
3 We cut the opening
We cut the opening to the measurements in your design.
For a secure picture fit, ask us to confirm the overlap before choosing the opening.

Will the borders always be equal?
Equal borders gives all four sides the same width. When you specify a visible picture area, the side and top borders can differ to keep that area centred.
How do I measure my frame?
Measure the internal space where the glass or backing fits, or measure the insert already in your frame. Do not measure the outside edges of the frame moulding. Custom measurements are in millimetres.
What if I’m unsure about my picture size?
Measure your full photo or artwork, then contact us to confirm the opening. The opening may need to be smaller than the picture to hold its edges. The current designer uses the exact opening dimensions you select.
